People in My Life: Ann

Good afternoon y'all :)

I'm having SUCH an amazing day! Have y'all ever gone to bed early the night before, gotten plenty of rest, and your energy completely controls your day?

I had Chick-Fil-A breakfast, watched a movie in my first class, my mom brought me all this food, two old friends randomly chatted me, I got a 90 on my Geography 121 essay, I cleaned my entire room and changed out my summer and winter clothes, and tonight is ADPi's Spaghetti Dinner to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House.

AHHHH today is good.

Getting to the purpose of this post, I've been waiting to do this one for awhile! I want to introduce you guys to someone that can constantly been mentioned, and means the world to me. This is my best friend, Ann:

Breakdown:

Name: Annmarie

Age: The Big 1-8

Relation: Basically my sister

Favorite things to do: Lay around, eat, play with her dog April, be with her family, party, hang with me, go to the UL to study aka get on Facebook, and SHOP!

My favorite part about her: Her hair, her littleness, and her sense of style.

Best advice: "Don't hold your breath waiting for a guy to change."

Unique facts:
  • She is Filipino
  • She used to live in Queens and still visits frequently
  • Was born on April Fools
  • Is allergic to cats, but loves my kitty Tabor

Best memory: This can't be a question for this post. There are extremely toooooo many. We make a new memory everyday that I love.

Miss Ann, you are my best friend in the world. No exaggeration. You have been there with me through many, many turning points in my life, and have stuck by my side through thick and thin.

I don't know how I could ever thank you enough for all those late night calls, ramblings about boys, fatty pig outs, sleepovers, crazy nights, and so much more. You helped shape me into the person I am today, without a doubt.

You are such a strong person and you never fail to make me laugh and give me encouragement. No matter what I do in life, you never judge me, never resort to jealousy, and never give up on me! That's what a true best friend is.

We have been through a lot together: family issues, deaths, vacations, high school, boys, and college. I'm so lucky that we are going to UNC together and get to enjoy 4 more years together.

A little background on me and this girl: We become friends freshmen year when I lived in Fayetteville and we went to the same high school together! After my mom was remarried, and I moved to Cary for the rest of high school, we only became closer as friends, even though there was 90 miles between us. She was there in the hospital room with me when I was saying my goodbyes to my dad, we took a cruise to the Bahamas together, she took me on my first trip to New York, and I've spent EVERY summer with her.

Ann, our other friend Lauren, and I have taken a beach trip ever summer/year together and it's one of my favorite times each year. I love making memories with these girls. This summer we went to OBX and I know in the future our families will own a beach house together in Duck.

Spring Break 2010 was one of the greatest weeks of my life and those girls made it perfect. This past New Years and July 4th were all with Ann and Lauren. I spent a lot of my time driving 1 1/2 hours to Fayetteville throughout the years to be with these two girls.

Now that we are in college, I've only become closer to Ann. We get each other more than anyone else. We know exactly what each other is saying even when it doesn't make sense. We are soooooo weird around each other and find it completely normal. We talk to each other about all our problems, borrow clothes, do each others hair and make up, have sleepovers almost every week, help each other make major decisions and so much more. When I don't see her for more than an day, I feel like it's been too long.

One of the things I am most grateful for is that not only do we love to party with each other and have a crazy time, but we actually take care of each other. If I can't find Ann at a party or I realize she's drank too much, I stay with her and make sure she gets home safe. And she does this all the time for me too. If we go out without each other, it almost doesn't feel right. Don't get me wrong, I have a great time with my other girlfriends, but Ann is truly irreplaceable.

She's a great dancer, she's hilarious, she little, and super Asian, NOT. There are so many things about this girl that make me feel so lucky to have her as my best friend. She's beautiful on the inside and outside and I can't imagine my life without her. I feel sometimes like we are the exact same person in different bodies.
I will do anything and everything for her, so don't ever hurt her or I'll kill you. I'm not kidding. I will.

I know we're gonna go so far in life and I can't wait to see where this journey at UNC and beyond takes us. I know you'll end up with an amazing man that you deserve and have beautiful half-something/half-asian babies. We'll get revenge on those dumb boys with rhyming names and make them regret the day they hurt us. Every dumb thing high school threw at us will be worth it, and I'm excited for the happiness and joy that life will bring you!

I love you baby cakes,
best friends forever
